What do you mean by "commission"?
Basically, you want a custom picture made. If you pay me, I will make it for you.
What kinds of things will you do or not do for commissions?
I try to be as flexible as possible, barring two set-in-stone things: nothing illegal, nothing X-rated. Anything else is on a case-by-case basis and I will let you know beforehand if I cannot fulfill your request or if I require more time/payment than usual.
How much will a picture cost?
Generally, my work starts at $5 (for a simple sketch of, for example, a headshot), and prices increase from there depending what you are looking for exactly. Please see the price estimate calculator below for more information.
Whoa. The prices are too high...!
Please consider not only materials and shipping costs, but also time involved for the commission options you want. Also, if you find me at a convention, that's usually a better time to get a hold of me for buying anything at all (because my prices tend to be lower when I'm behind that Artist Alley table~ Think of it as having a sale!)
Will you draw x picture for me for free?
If I'm at a convention, I don't mind doing a quick (think 5-10 mins.) sketch for you, but generally, I can't afford time to give away for nothing, especially when I try hard to get a tiny bit of extra income from selling my work. =( Sorry... If you really want to make a request for a picture to be uploaded (i.e., you won't receive the original), you are welcome to make the suggestion, but I really can't make promises when so many projects eat up my drawing time... Sorry!
Can I get a picture made for [insert commercial purpose]?
You can of course commission me for work intended for commercial uses, provided the details are all agreed to ahead of time and in writing. Prices tend to be a little different depending on the individual situation.
Unless otherwise agreed to in writing, all commissions are for personal use only. (e.g. hanging on your wall, using for your personal site, a gift for someone)
Can I sell the picture/prints of the picture/claim it as my own work for whatever reason?
If you mean selling the original, go ahead. If you mean selling copies in any form or claiming the work as your own - No. :| Seriously, don't do it. Even when it's created by request, it is still my work. I would also very much appreciate credit/site links when possible. :3
Will you do fanart?
Yes, but not for commercial use or of properties from very anti-fanart companies.
Will you do your own characters?
I will and have before~ =D It makes them feel special.
What if I want a comic/buttons/stationery/tote bags/something else unusual and not just a picture?
I'll do my best to work out a deal for you. :3 Please contact me to ask about what I can do.
Will you be selling the picture I commissioned off you as a print or something?
Nope~ I don't sell commissioned pictures in any form.
Unless requested to do otherwise, I may however use the piece in a portfolio and/or upload to a website in a low-resolution file purely for display purposes.
Will I get the original picture on paper? What if I wanted CG?
You will receive the original completed piece either through the mail (or local pickup at a TTC station if the piece is too large/fragile for shipping). If you want a particular shipping method, please let me know beforehand.
In the case of pieces using CG colour, you will receive the original, physical sketch/lineart with a high-resolution file of the finished picture on CD.
In the case of pieces created entirely digitally or if you do not wish to have the original shipped for some reason, you will receive a high-resolution file online only (and not worry about shipping costs).
